Can I use my Porte debit card to pay bills?
Yes! You can use your Porte card to pay everyday bills that accept Visa debit card payments.
Can I use Porte internationally?
The security of your account is of the utmost importance to us. We actively monitor security concerns around the globe and as of October 1, 2022 allow access to the Porte app from the following countries: Aruba, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Belize, Bermuda, Canada, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Denmark, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Iceland, India, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Panama, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, United States, United State Minor Outlying Islands, Virgin Islands (British), and U.S. Virgin Islands. Please note, new Porte accounts may be created in the United States only at this time and we may, from time to time and without notice, remove countries from this list.
How do I sign up for a Porte account?

Is my money safe with Porte?
Your money is FDIC-insured2 with Porte. Porte is a deposit account established by Pathward, National Association, and funds on deposit in your Account are FDIC insured through Pathward, N.A. For purposes of FDIC coverage, all funds held on deposit by you at Pathward, N.A. will be aggregated up to the coverage limit, currently $250,000.00.
Is there a monthly fee for Porte?
Porte’s monthly fee is $9.95. However, you can avoid paying this fee if you receive $1,000 or more in qualifying Direct Deposits in the 35 days before the monthly fee is assessed.3 In other words, if you have monthly Direct Deposit of $1,000 or more, then the monthly fee is waived. There may be other account fees. Review your Deposit Account Agreement for details.
What is Porte?

We work with Pathward, N.A. to bring you a premium mobile banking experience that provides the access you need. The name Porte comes from the French word for “Door”. Porte is an open doorway to banking that gives back. At Porte, we’re listening to our customers and we’re ready to learn and evolve with them to secure their future. We’re bringing modern mobile banking with the in-person service you need.
Porte is a mobile finance app, not a bank. Banking services provided by Pathward, National Association, Member FDIC.
Who can open a Porte account?
Anyone 18 and older who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident in one of the 50 U.S. states or District of Columbia can open a Porte account.

Can I add check funds with a paper check?
Use Mobile Check Capture4 in the Porte app to add check funds in your account.
Can I add the Porte card to my mobile wallet?
Yes, you can! Your Porte Visa debit card works the same as any other debit card. Use it in your mobile wallet with Apple Pay® and Google Pay™, and with payment apps like PayPal®, CashApp®, and Venmo®. Card can be used everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted.
Can I deposit a paper check?
Use Mobile Check Capture5 in the Porte app to deposit check funds in your account.
Can I use my Porte card in my mobile wallet?
Yes, you can! Your Porte Visa debit card works the same as any other debit card. Use it in your mobile wallet with Apple Pay® and Google Pay™, and with payment apps like PayPal®, CashApp®, and Venmo®.
How do I add money to my account?
You can add money in the following ways:
- Direct Deposit is an easy way to add money each time you are paid, and , you can enjoy receiving your paycheck up to two days early.5 Find out more about getting paid faster with Direct Deposit here.
- Transfer funds from another bank account using ACH (Automated Clearing House), a method of bank-to-bank direct transfer.6
- Link your existing debit card from another account to transfer funds in minutes into your Porte account.7
- Add cash in person at one of our participating retailers.8
- Add cash with no fee at an ACE Cash Express location when you have received a qualifying direct deposit in the preceding 35 days. 9
- Use Mobile Check Capture.4
How do I add cash to my Porte account?
You may add cash at select retail locations for a fee of up to $3.95 per transaction.8 When you have qualifying Direct Deposit, you can add cash at an ACE Cash Express location for no fee.9 Use the ATM Finder within the Porte app to find the closest location to add cash.
When will I get my Porte card?
You’ll receive your Porte card within 5-7 business days after opening your account. Keep an eye out on your mail for an envelope from Porte. If you have questions, give our customer service team a call at 1-800-267-7080. Welcome to the family!

ATMs
How do I withdraw money from my Porte account?
Porte’s ATM network is MoneyPass® where you can access more than 37,000 no-fee ATMs.10 Use the ATM Finder within the Porte app to find an ATM near you. You can also withdraw up to $500 per day at an ACE Cash Express location with no fee when you meet Direct Deposit requirements.11
Is there an ATM fee to withdraw money from my Porte account?
There are no ATM fees when you withdraw cash from a MoneyPass ATM10, available at over 37,000 locations. You can also withdraw up to $500 per day at an ACE Cash Express location with no fee when you meet Direct Deposit requirements.11 Use your Porte app to find a fee-free ATM. An out-of-network ATM withdrawal fee of $2.50 applies to all other ATMs, in addition to the owner’s surcharge fee that may apply. Other fees, such as Balance Inquiry Fees may apply. Avoid these fees by selecting “no” when the ATM asks if you want your balance printed on your receipt.
Direct Deposit
How do I set up Direct Deposit with Porte?
Download your Direct Deposit form in the Porte app.1 Follow the instructions provided by your employer to finish setting up Direct Deposit. You can also access your account and routing number under Account Info in the user profile.
What is a qualifying direct deposit?
When you have a direct deposit of $1000 or more in one calendar month, you enjoy some of Porte’s most powerful benefits, including getting paid up to 2 days faster2, unlocking a High-Interest Savings with a 3.00% APY5 and more! You will also gain access to Porte’s Overdraft Protection Service6.
Overdraft
Do I have to pay for Overdraft Service?
There is no fee to enroll in the optional Overdraft Service. However, you may incur fees when you use the service. Once you overdraft, if you bring your account back to a positive balance within 24 hours, no fee is charged. After 24 hours, you will be charged a $20 fee per transaction that overdrafts your account by more than $10.
How do I get the optional Overdraft Service with Porte?
You may enroll in the Overdraft Service under Account Info in the user profile. You must receive Direct Deposits totaling at least $400.00 to your Account within thirty-five (35) days of your enrollment in the Service (Direct Deposits received prior to enrollment count towards this total). You must have a positive Available Balance in your Account at the time we activate the Service on your Account. Once you have met all eligibility requirements, your participation in the Service will be activated within twenty-four (24) hours. Once the Service is activated on your Account, you MUST continue to receive Direct Deposits totaling at least $200.00 to your Account every thirty (30) days or we will deactivate your participation in the Service.
How long do I have to pay back the amount I overdraft without a fee?
You have 24 hours from the time your transaction posts to your account to repay the funds you overdraft. Let’s say you overdraft your account at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, then you have until 2:00 p.m. on Friday to add the funds into your account.
You can transfer money from your Savings Account, add cash at one of our partner locations4, receive funds through Direct Deposit, use mobile check capture5, or transfer money from a debit card3 to bring your account balance positive.
What is Overdraft Choice?
Overdraft Choice2 is the feature that allows you to turn the optional Overdraft Service On and Off. When Overdraft Choice is turned off, your purchases will be declined if there are insufficient funds your account to cover the purchase. When Overdraft Choice is turned on, the optional Overdraft Service is enabled. You must be enrolled and eligible for the Overdraft Service to use Overdraft Choice within the Porte app.8
What is Overdraft Service?
The optional Overdraft Service6 is Porte’s overdraft protection feature. Once you enroll and meet the eligibility requirements, you will be charged $20.00 for each transaction that overdraws your account by more than $10.00, up to a maximum of five (5) fees per calendar month. To avoid that fee, you have twenty-four (24) hours from the time of the first transaction that creates the overdraft to bring your Account back to a zero ($0.00) or a positive balance.
What type of purchases can I make?
At our discretion, the Overdraft Service may cover debit purchases and ATM withdrawals. The Overdraft Service will not cover ACH debit transactions or reoccurring debit transactions.
Savings Account
Are there fees associated with this account?
No, the Savings Account is included at no cost for all Porte members. However, a fee may be charged when you call Customer Service to make a Savings Account balance inquiry or request a copy of your Savings Account statements.
How do I set up the Savings Account?
Anyone with an active Porte account can open an optional Savings Account so long as they are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, agree to the Porte Savings Account Agreement, consent to receive electronic communications, and certify as to status as a U.S. person. At the top of the Porte dashboard, select “Open” to get started.
Is it safe to keep my money in a mobile savings account?
Porte’s optional Savings Account is a savings account established by Pathward, N.A., Member FDIC, and funds on deposit in your savings account are FDIC insured2 through Pathward, N.A. For purposes of FDIC coverage, all funds held on deposit by you at Pathward, N.A. will be aggregated up to the coverage limit, currently $250,000.00.
What changes are coming to the Savings Account?
Starting January 1, 2022 Porte will open the Savings Account to all customers. As part of this change, there will be new criteria to qualify to receive and maintain up to 3.00% APY on savings balances.
As of January 1, 2022 all Porte members will be eligible for a Savings Account with 0.20% APY. In order to receive up to 3.00% APY on savings balances, Porte members must meet the follow criteria every quarter (that’s 3 calendar months, or Jan. – Mar., Apr. – Jun., etc.):
- Receive at least $3,000 in qualifying direct deposits to your Porte spending account, AND
- Make at least 15 qualifying purchase transactions with your Porte spending account that settle in that quarter

What is a qualifying Direct Deposit?
Qualifying Direct Deposits must be a direct deposit made by Automated Clearing House (ACH) transfer consisting of payroll, pension, or government benefits payments from an employer or a government agency. The recipient’s name associated with such deposits must match the name of the Porte Accountholder. Qualifying Direct Deposits DO NOT include non-payroll or non-government benefits deposits such as ACH transfers from your bank account at another financial institution, person-to-person transfers, cash loads from third-party money transmission services, or mobile check deposits. Qualifying Direct Deposits must settle in your Porte Spending Account during the quarter for the higher interest rate to apply.
What is a qualifying purchase transaction?
Qualifying Debit Card Purchase Transactions means a purchase transaction made with your Porte Debit Card at a merchant for goods or services. Qualifying Debit Card Purchase Transactions do not include, without limitation, ATM transactions, over-the-counter withdrawals, P2P transactions, debit card transfers, ACH transactions, or transfers to or from your Porte Savings Account. Qualifying Debit Card Purchase Transactions must settle in your Porte Spending Account during the quarter for the higher interest rate to apply. For example, transactions that post in the 1st calendar quarter but settle in the 2nd quarter will count as a Qualifying Debit Card Purchase Transaction for the 2nd quarter.
What is Annual Percentage Yield?
Annual Percentage Yield, or APY, is the total amount of interest paid on your Savings Account, based on the interest rate and frequency of compounding for a 365-day period (366-day period in a leap year), and is expressed as a percentage.
What is Porte’s Bonus Savings program?
All Porte members will be eligible for a Savings Account with 0.20% APY. Porte also offers Bonus Savings, where members can earn more interest. In order to receive up to 3.00% APY on savings balances, Porte members must meet the follow criteria each quarter (that’s 3 calendar months, or Jan. – Mar., Apr. – Jun., etc.):
- Receive at least $3,000 in qualifying Direct Deposits to your Porte spending account in that quarter, AND
- Make at least 15 qualifying purchase transactions with your Porte spending account that settle in that quarter.

What minimum amount do I need to keep in the savings account?
There’s no minimum amount that you must keep in your Savings Account. Choose to save as much or as little as you want.
When will I receive my savings interest payment?
Interest earned on your Porte Savings Account will be credited and posted to your account on the last day of each calendar quarter (March, June, September, and December). If you have app notifications activated for your account, you will receive a push notification on your phone when your statement is available each month.
Why should I get a savings account?
Saving money now can bring peace of mind about your future. You can use it to put away money now for short-term and long-term goals. Anyone with a Porte Account can open a Savings Account and start earning 0.20% APY. When you receive $3,000 or more in qualifying Direct Deposits to your Porte Spending Account during a calendar quarter and complete at least 15 qualifying purchase transactions in that calendar quarter, you can earn up to 3.00% APY2 for that calendar quarter on the first $15,000 deposited in your Savings Account. That’s one helpful way to reach your savings goals a little faster.
Porte Perks
A friend received a perk I want. How can I get the same perk?
Unfortunately, you cannot ensure you will receive the same perk as your friend. Porte Perks are made available based on how and where each individual accountholder shops using the debit card connected to their account.
A perk expired yesterday. Can I still use it?
No. Once a perk expires there is no way to reinstate it. To stay up-to-date with all perks, visit the Porte Perks screen in the app.
Are sales tax or shipping charges be included in the value of a perk with a minimum purchase requirement?
Yes. The minimum purchase amount may include sales tax and/or shipping charges for the purchase. For example, if the perk requires a purchase of $50, and you spend $48 plus $2.88 sales tax for a total of $50.88, the purchase will qualify for the reward.
Can I earn Perks for my Virtual Card purchases?
Yes! Purchases made only using virtual cards contribute to your perks.
Can I use a merchant's coupon with a perk?
Yes, you may use a merchant’s coupon if: (a) the coupon hasn’t expired; (b) there are no usage restrictions described on the coupon or in the offer details; and (c) the amount paid for the purchase still meets the perk requirements after the coupon discount has been applied. For example, if the offer requires a purchase of $20, the amount of the purchase after the coupon discount has been applied must still be at least $20.
Do I have to enroll to begin earning Porte Perks?
No, you do not have to enroll in or sign up for the program. The benefits of the program are automatically available to all eligible accountholders. To maintain eligibility, you must use your account in accordance with the terms and conditions of your Deposit Account Agreement and the terms and conditions of this program. You may opt out at any time if you do not wish to participate in the program.
Do I need a code or coupon to redeem a perk?
In most cases, you will not need a code or coupon to redeem a perk. However, each perk may have specific redemption requirements such as how much you need to spend, or other specified conditions. In the case of online perks (or other similar instances), a code may be included. You must read each offer carefully to determine its details.
Does participating in Porte Perks cost me anything?
No, there is no extra cost to participate in the Porte Perks program. This program is a benefit that is available to all eligible accountholders. Please refer to your Deposit Account Agreement for any fees that may apply to purchase transactions using your debit card.
How do I use a perk?
Tap an offer for any of the perks you see on the Porte Perks screen to add the perk to your card and learn more about it. Then, visit the merchant before the offer expires and use your Porte debit card to pay for the qualifying purchase.
How long do I have to redeem a perk?
Each perk will have an expiration date set by the merchant. The expiration date will appear in the details section of the perk. Tap on the perk to expand it to see the expiration date. Once a perk has expired, it cannot be reinstated.
If I opt out of the Porte Perks program, can I opt in again?
You can opt back in to the program by tapping the link on the Porte Perks screen in the app.
Is my personal information shared with merchants?
No, your personal information is not shared with the merchant providing a perk. When you activate a perk, and make a purchase with your Porte card, the merchant does not know you are participating in this program.
What are Available Perks and Active Perks?
Available Perks are offers that are brand new to you. To begin using the Available Perks, just tap the “Add to Card” button.
Active Perks are offers that you’ve activated by pressing “Add to Card”. Once activated, you can earn your reward by using your Porte card to shop according to the terms of the offer. You will not earn a reward until you shop with your Porte card.
What are Porte Perks?
Porte Perks is a targeted offer program that offers cash back rewards for using your Porte card to purchase qualifying merchandise and services. We refer to these targeted offers as perks. You’ll receive perks based on your shopping habits. You activate these perks and get cash back rewards (in the form of account credits) when you buy goods or services from the company offering the perk. There is no limit to how much cash back you can earn (though there may be limits with respect to individual perks). So, the more you use your Porte card, the more perks you can receive, and the more cash back rewards you can earn.
What if I do not want to receive Perks?
You can opt out of receiving perks by tapping “Opt Out” on the Porte Perks screen in the app. If you opt out of Porte Perks but later change your mind, you can opt back in to the program on the app.

Why don't I see any Perks?
Perks are based on how you shop with your Porte card. If you don’t use your debit card very much you may not receive perks until you start using your debit card more often. That’s because sometimes there may not be any perks available that match your debit card activity. The more you use your debit card, the more chances you will have to receive relevant perks. Remember, purchases made with your virtual cards contribute to your perks as well!
Will I still earn Porte Perks account credits if I opt out of the program?
You will not earn any new Porte Perks after you opt out, but any account credits you qualified for before opting out will appear on your account statement by the last day of the calendar month following the calendar month during which the transaction occurred.

Can I support multiple charities?
No, you can only support one charity at a time. However, you can change the charity that you support at any time within the Porte app.
Do I have to pay anything to support a charity through #DoorToChange?
No, there is no additional cost to support a charity in #DoorToChange. You have the option to select a charity through the Porte app. Populus Financial Group will donate an amount equal to 0.05% of each purchase that you make with your debit card to the charity that you have selected in the app, subject to certain conditions described in the app.
How do I know how much has been contributed to my selected charity?
You can see the amount generated from the Porte community from the #DoorToChange section in your Porte App.
How do I know if I’m enrolled in #DoorToChange?
Log in to your Porte app and select “Charity” on the dashboard. If you are enrolled in #DoorToChange, you’ll see your chosen charity selected with the label “Supporting”. If you’re not enrolled, you’ll have the option to support a charity.
How do I support a charity?
Look for the option “Charity”on your Porte app dashboard. Select a charity from the options available in the app and then select Start Supporting on the charity page.
How often can I change charities?
You can change your selected charity as often as you like.
What is #DoorToChange?
#DoorToChange is Porte’s giving program that doesn’t cost you a penny.1 You have the option to select a charity through the Porte app.2 Populus Financial Group will donate an amount equal to 0.05% of each purchase that you make with your debit card to the charity that you have selected in the app, subject to certain conditions described in the app. You can spend with confidence knowing that your money goes the extra mile. Are there any fees to join Porte as an Affiliate or Influencer?
No, there is no charge to join either the Porte Affiliate or Influencer Program. There are no fees to sign up and no fees to use any approved materials provided.
Are there minimum requirements to apply?
For your application to be considered, the following requirements must be met:
- A complete and accurate affiliate / influencer program application.
- Identification of all sites or audiences that will display the content.
- All sites or audiences must contain original content and be publicly available through the addresses provided.
- All sites or audiences cannot contain or promote the following:
- Sexually explicit or obscene materials
- Violence or contain violent materials or promote, endorse or incite dangerous or harmful acts
- False, deceptive, or defamatory materials
